Terms of Use

The Service is designed for students in secondary school (JSS1–SS3) and those preparing for national examinations including JAMB, WAEC, and NECO in Nigeria. To use PrepBeta you must:

• Be at least 13 years of age. Users under 18 must have a parent or guardian who agrees to these Terms on their behalf.
• Have access to a valid WhatsApp-enabled phone number for lesson delivery.
• Provide accurate, complete, and current information during registration.
• Not be barred from receiving our Service under the laws of Nigeria or any applicable jurisdiction.

PrepBeta reserves the right to refuse or revoke access to anyone who provides false information or does not meet these eligibility requirements.

When you register for a PrepBeta account you agree to:

• Provide a real name and a WhatsApp number that you own and actively use.
• Keep your login credentials confidential. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• Notify us immediately at support@prepbeta.com if you suspect any unauthorised access to your account.
• Not share your account credentials or allow another person to use your account as their own.
• Maintain an accurate WhatsApp number on your account at all times — lesson delivery depends on this.

School Administrators are additionally responsible for ensuring that every student enrolled under their School Account has parental consent (where applicable) and has been informed of these Terms.

PrepBeta delivers its core educational content through the WhatsApp Business Platform. By registering, you expressly consent to receiving automated educational messages, lesson content, mini-tests, progress updates, and service notifications from PrepBeta via WhatsApp.

To ensure uninterrupted delivery you must:

• Save PrepBeta's number to your contacts. WhatsApp may route messages from unsaved numbers to your "Requests" folder.
• Keep WhatsApp installed and active on the registered number. Uninstalling or blocking our number suspends your lesson delivery — your plan will not be paused or refunded for this reason.
• Not spam or abuse PrepBeta's WhatsApp channel. We may block users who send abusive or irrelevant messages.

PrepBeta is not responsible for delivery failures caused by WhatsApp platform outages, your phone carrier, full storage, or you blocking our number.

Access to PrepBeta's full lesson library and features requires a paid Subscription Plan. All payments are processed securely through Paystack and are subject to their payment terms.

Plans & Billing

• Monthly Billed once per month. Access ends at the close of each billing period unless renewed.
• Termly Billed once per school term (approximately 3 months). Offers approximately 15% savings versus monthly billing.
• Annual Billed once per year. Offers approximately 30% savings versus monthly billing.
• School Plan Custom pricing for institutions enrolling 20 or more students. Contact us for a quote.

Renewal

Plans do not auto-renew unless you explicitly enable auto-renewal. You will receive a WhatsApp reminder 3 days before your plan expires. Lessons stop immediately upon expiry. You have a 7-day grace period during which your progress, streak, and data are preserved — after which inactive accounts may have their data archived.

Refund Policy

You agree to use PrepBeta only for lawful educational purposes and in a way that does not harm other users, our staff, or the platform's integrity.

You must not:

• Copy, share, resell, or distribute PrepBeta lesson content, questions, or mock exams — in whole or in part — without written permission.
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract our content, database, or algorithms through automated means.
• Use PrepBeta to cheat in official examinations — including using our content in an exam hall or sharing mock exam questions with others for commercial gain.
• Harass, threaten, or send offensive content to PrepBeta staff or other users via our channels.
• Impersonate another student, parent, or PrepBeta employee.
• Interfere with the service, introduce malicious code, or attempt unauthorised access to our systems.
• Create fake accounts or use the platform in any fraudulent manner.

All Content on the PrepBeta platform — including but not limited to lesson text, questions, explanations, diagrams, mock exams, software, design, and branding — is the exclusive property of PrepBeta Ltd or its licensed content partners, and is protected by Nigerian and international copyright law.

Your licence: We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive, revocable licence to access and use the Content solely for your own private study during the period your Subscription Plan is active. This licence does not permit you to:

• Download, print, or store Content beyond what is necessary for personal use.
• Reproduce or redistribute Content to any third party, including in study groups or on social media.
• Create derivative works based on our Content.

The "PrepBeta" name, logo, and taglines are registered trademarks of PrepBeta Ltd. You may not use our name, logo, or branding in any way — including in social media bios or promotional materials — without our prior written consent.

Your use of PrepBeta is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Key points:

• We collect your name, WhatsApp number, email address, and academic performance data (test scores, lesson completion, streaks) to operate and improve the Service.
• We never sell your personal data to third parties.
• Performance data may be shared with a linked Parent account or School Account administrator — limited to scores and progress summaries, never lesson content or private messages.
• All data is stored on encrypted servers in Nigeria and the EU, compliant with Nigeria's NDPR and the GDPR.
• You may request a copy of your data or ask for it to be deleted at any time by contacting privacy@prepbeta.com. Deletion requests are processed within 72 hours.

PrepBeta provides the Service "as is" and "as available". While we work hard to keep the platform accurate, reliable, and up to date, we make no warranties — express or implied — including:

• That the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free at all times.
• That PrepBeta lesson content will guarantee a specific exam score or examination success. Outcomes depend on a student's individual effort, consistency, and circumstances.
• That all Content is free from typographical or factual errors. If you spot an error, please report it to us at content@prepbeta.com.
• That third-party platforms (including WhatsApp) used to deliver lessons will always be available.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Nigerian law, PrepBeta Ltd shall not be liable for any:

• Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including loss of exam opportunity, lost earnings, or data loss — arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
• Damages resulting from third-party service failures (e.g. WhatsApp or Paystack outages).
• Damages caused by your own negligence, including failure to save our contact, entering the wrong number, or missing lessons due to phone issues.

In all cases, PrepBeta's total liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the total amount you paid to PrepBeta in the 3 months immediately preceding the claim.

Nothing in these Terms excludes our liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under Nigerian law.

By you: You may close your account at any time by contacting support@prepbeta.com. Closing your account does not entitle you to a refund for unused plan time unless you meet the refund criteria in Section 5.

By PrepBeta: We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate your account — with or without prior notice — if:

• You violate any provision of these Terms.
• You engage in fraudulent, abusive, or illegal conduct via our platform.
• Your account is inactive for more than 180 days after plan expiry.
• We are required to do so by law or a court order.

Sections 6 (Acceptable Use), 7 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Liability), and this section survive any termination of these Terms.

PrepBeta may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our Service, applicable law, or business practices. When we do:

• We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
• For material changes (those that significantly affect your rights or obligations), we will send a notice to your registered WhatsApp number and/or email address at least 14 days before the changes take effect.
• For minor changes (e.g. formatting, clarifications that do not change your rights), no advance notice is required.

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any change constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may request account closure and (where applicable) a pro-rated refund.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes arising from or in connection with these Terms shall first be referred to mediation. If mediation fails, disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria.
